Beard of the Day and Why I Hate Reading Challenges

First, beard of the day.....Liev Schreiber. In addition to this nice scruff, he has gorgeous eyes, and a ton of sex appeal. Every time I see him act, I am mesmerized by this guy. Lucky Naomi!

Second, what's up with all of these reading challenges? I swore after completing the oral exams for my graduate program (and writing that damned thesis), that I would never take a class again! As God is my witness, I have stuck faithfully to this decision. Life is hard. Reading romance novels is fun. Why take something fun and turn it into an academic endeavor? This is why I very rarely accept ARCs to read....I don't want a freakin' assignment, I just want to read whatever I want, whenever I want. I know, I sound selfish. But the truth is, reading romantic fiction is one of the true joys of my life, and I don't want anything messing it up. My have-to-do list is long and laborious every day. The best part of that list is....#57) sneak into the bathroom and read a fun romance novel! Viva romance!

1. I love his beard but something about Liev gives me the heebie jeebies.
2. LOL! True true! I never thought of it that way. I've only joined two challenges for the year. One that encourages me to read mysteries and one that encourages me to read dystopian novels. I love them both so it's not reallly work.

Hi Juju! I found your comment very intriguing and had to google "dystopian novels"--and I now I am even more intrigued. How cool! Can you give me an example of some dystopian novels you are going to read? Neat!

Also, I used to be addicted to mysteries. If you have not read them, I would recommend the Archer Mayor books...they are set in Vermont and are really cool. For light hearted, fun mysteries, try the culinary mystery series by Diane Mott Davidson. She even includes recipes in her books!

Okay, I just got the significance of your beard of the day post. LOL. Also, I hear you on challenges! Reading is one area of my life that is free. Though less and less lately.

Nice scruff :)
I hear you about the reading challenges... I did join a few myself but I only read books for them that I wanted to read anyway ;)

Btw Thanks for stopping by at my blog and becoming a follower :D Hope to see you around more often!

Hey Carolyn! I hope you are all done with edits and just waiting for release day. I liked the picture of your car held together with duct tape. My husband's first car was held together with wire hangers!
