Quick Wrap Up of NEC Conference....
1) MaryJanice Davidson is hilarious.
2) Drinking tap water with orange slices is not as much fun as an appletini.
3) Attending workshops is a double edge sword. I get helpful hints. I become convinced my WIP is the biggest piece o' shite in the world, and if I don't start doing character interviews, I will end up making french fries at McDonald's.
4) I cry a lot. I have not made it through one speaker without crying. (Note to self: get water proof mascara).
5) I am finally ready to jump on the Nora Roberts bandwagon. Several Quirky Ladies convinced me to read the Gallaghers of Ardmore Trilogy. For some reason, I am totally in the mood for some hot Irish dudes this week.
6) The best part of the weekend? When I got home, both of my kids screamed "Mom!" and ran enthusiastically into my arms for a hug. My husband looked frazzled. My dog wagged her tail. And now, I'm ready to write....

Love the sign off "pumped for productive pandemonium, penelope"!
I'm glad to Hear JJD is hilarious. LOL She strikes me as kind of quirky, I'd love to meet her someday. I tried to jump on the Nora train once...it didn't work out. I'll try again one day.
Thanks, Juju. I love alliteration!
Hey FV--MaryJanice Davidson is outrageous...I was laughing so hard during her talk I was crying. You can totally see where her snarky writer's voice is coming from!
I'll let you know what I think of Nora. I am reserving judgment. I read a couple of her books a while ago and thought they were OK.
I've managed to avoid reading Nora Roberts for all of my life--I think I'm going to continue to do so. :)
Hi Heidenkind! I have to admit that I am LOVING the Nora book I'm reading right now. It is way better than the one I read years ago.
Oh, fun! Well, sounds like you should've brought an appletini to some of those workshops! LOL. Well, in my experience, people take apart a WIP when they feel like it's strong.
Hi Carolyn! I am feeling better about my WIP right now...I just did a Beta read and I think I only need minor adjustments, not crazy rewrites. Those conferences drive me insane!
