Here's a funny story about our kayaking trip. I partnered with my son.....we were flying through the water like a well-oiled machine. My hubby got stuck with Natty. She was screaming, laughing hysterically, and they smashed into the river banks about 20 times. At the very end of the trip, they cut off the rest of the kayakers, crossed the river, and got to the docking area first. As the rest of the group finished up, Natty stood at the edge of the water with her paddle over her head, and pumped it up and down, yelling "We win! We win!" Heee heee heeee...she is insane.
Anyhoo, it's good to be back home, even though I do miss the wonderful ocean breezes in Kauai. Next on the agenda: baking camp for Nat, and revisions for moi.
Coming soon: Reading Update. I inhaled quite a few books on the hellacious flight to and from Hawaii. One was AMAZING! Tune in next Monday to find out which one was shockingly fabulous. By the way, I decided my new summer blogging schedule will be once a week posts, probably on Mondays. I might add a couple of extra posts here or there, but I'm really trying to finish up 2 books this summer while the kids are in camp. Good luck with that! (I can hear your sarcasm).
Hope all of you have been enjoying your summer.....
All my best,
Penelope

Thanks for sharing your vacation pics with us. I'm jealous. :)
Have fun writing those books.
I'm glad you and your family had a great time. Thank you for sharing :)
Wow, you were really lucky to see monk seals. They are pretty rare. Looks like you had a great time. Kauai is such an amazing place.
Hi Amber! Thanks.....I'm excited about my first self-pubbed book. And the weenie dog book is coming along really well...that one will be out in print with Lulu. :^)
Hi Cat! It was great, but that flight was hellacious...not in a hurry to do that again. Ugh!
Jen....they were swimming in a little protected cove area right down the street from our hotel...my daughter was SO excited to see them. She fell in love with them!
Hi dear Penny, Glad you are back safe and sound! Yes, the flights these days are punishment instead of pleasure! It looks like you and the family enjoyed yourselves. Your girlfriend in the icky and sticky 'Burgh. xxoo Nancy
Oh what a great trip! Wish I coulda been there! You did so many things and look at those kids surf! Wow! Next time I'm surfing too!
Nancy.....it's going to be 100 tomorrow! ACK!!!!!! I think I'll hang out at the mall for the A/C. I'm not too proud to hang out at the food court! :^)
Julia.....they made surfing look easy. They were both naturals!
They would probably make skiing and skating look easy too. I make it look like I am dying! I didn't think Natty was so grown up...
Nice to have you back, great pictures and good luck with the two new books!
I really don't mind being one of your B***hes.....
Great photo's so glad you had a great time with the family, and just think of all that background noise in food court, but of course you'll be to busy making mental notes about all the 'funny' folk that you see to notice the noise......
Welcome back xxxxxx
Yay! I'm so happy you had a great time. And I love the photos, especially the Monk Seals - soooo cute!
Hi Steph! Cristian is a wicked good long-boarder, so he's great on any board that requires good balance. And Natty is also naturally athletic. And I wouldn't attempt to do that in a MILLION years. I like to sit on the beach with my beer and relax. And cheer for the kids!
Thanks, Lindsay! So far baking camp is going great....Natty made our whole dinner last night...veggie pizza, salad and mocha brownies for dessert!
Hi Tom! Not sure if you watch Top Chef, but there's a funny line from that show...."You're not my bitch, bitch!" Heeee....just thought of that one from your comment.
Glad to be back!
Hi Casey! The seals were really cool!
