Beard of the Day and Hannah Howell Reading Extravaganza!

Oh, boy! I just read my first Hannah Howell book, If He's Wild, and I am hooked, baby! It is part of a cool paranormal historical series called the Wherlocke series, about an extended family all with extraordinary "gifts"--detecting lies, reading minds, seeing ghosts, having visions, etc. etc. Although the book was a bit slow to start, once it picked up I was completely riveted. Howell has created a seriously bad-ass group of paranormal characters. (Oh yeah, the love story is really good, too...hee hee!). I already started If He's Wicked, and next up is If He's Sinful.

Since Hannah is well known for her Highlander series, I thought I would post a kilt-y beard of the day: Liam Neeson, looking rugged and fine in his plaid.

My husband and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this weekend (belatedly, since our first attempt was interrupted by my stupid heart attack!). We are headed to Vermont, my favorite place in all of the world. Quechee Antique Mall, here I come!

Happy, Happy Weekend!

Happy Anniversary!!!!! I hope you have a great time.

So glad you enjoyed Ms. Howell's foray into England's Georgian period. I love those Wherlockes! I can't wait for the Duke's story to come out. :)

Hi Carolyn! I think HH has done an incredible job creating this family....I love the intrigue and the mystery...I love how the female characters are just as strong and determined as the male characters...it's a very cool concept for a historical series.

Sorry to hear about your heart attack. No wonder your bucket list includes spreading heart health and a fantastic job of losing weight!

I hope that your Vermont trip goes much better for your anniversary. If it helps, Maine is beautiful today so I hope the good weather spreads as far as you travel!

I have every single Hannah Howell book. Not all are stellar, but she can write! Always fun to read.
Happy anniversary and I'm glad you're feeling better!

Julia-I haven't tried her that much. Any historical ones from HH that you loved the most? I've been the same way with Lisa Kleypas, they even have their own section on my shelf!

Lindsay - I'll take a look at my books later today and pick out a few. She wrote a number of stinkers too, but I suffered through them anyway and I won't normally do that, even for my favorite authors! With HH, you know what you're going to get - pure fun entertainment for the most part, occasionally stellar stories and really fleshed out characters.
