Writer's Retreat For One, Please

Well, my husband is back to work. My daughter is off to sleep-away camp. My son is long-boarding every day with his friends.

Which leaves me with a whole week to write.

Peace and quiet.

Ahhhhhhhh......................

So, hubby suggests "Why don't you head up to the Black Point Inn for a writer's retreat?" (Black Point Inn is a charming hotel in Scarborough, Maine).

And I said, "Huh. That is a crazy fabulous idea. I could relax, go on some hikes, enjoy the ocean, work on my book, and have cocktails with my girlfriends."

I dialed the hotel so fast my phone caught on fire.

Anyhoo, this is probably my Nirvana-On-Earth. The Black Point Inn is absolutely lovely and the perfect setting to write.

And best of all, it's sea level!

Hope everyone has a great week. I am off for peace, quiet, and hopefully a nicely chilled sangria.

All my best,
Penelope

Methinks your writing will get squigglier and squigglier the more cocktails you drink... ;)

I'm jealous, too! Have a great week!! Write til your hand falls off! Or hands, since you probably type.

Oh my marvelousness. Take pictures for us during your breaks. I want to imagine I'm there too. *le sigh*

How's the weather?

Is Sweet Adventure due out this Christmas? I need some Klaus brothers. :)

Thanks Tom!

Scarlett...I should probably refrain from drunk tweeting and drunk writing.

HMCW--Thank you! Or until I get carpal tunnel syndrome!

Juju...I will take lots of pics. Not sure about SA. I'm working on a different book right now.

That sounds ridiculously awesome. I've fantasized about retreating to a hotel to write a novel ever since we stayed at a hotel on Sanibel Island where a famous writer wrote a novel. This was back when I was kid, so I don't remember who the writer was, but it sounded like a great incentive for becoming an author. :)

Tasha...I would love to find out who the author was in Sanibel. I love that place. In fact, we are planning our vacation there for next year's spring break.

There is something about being near the ocean that helps with inspiration and motivation.
